Ways to Travel to Schiedam

By Car:

• With a navigation system:
  Simply enter the following address in the Netherlands:
  Hargalaan 6, 3118 JA Schiedam

• Without a navigation system:
  Set Rotterdam as your destination. When driving from the south on the A20/E25, follow the signs for Schiedam/Hoek van Holland. Take exit 10 (Schiedam Noord). At the end of the exit, turn right. At the next intersection, turn right again onto Hargalaan. At the roundabout, take the first exit. You have now reached your destination.

• Travelling on the A4 (direction Amsterdam):
  Take exit 10 (Schiedam Noord). On your right-hand side you will see the Van der Valk Hotel.

• Parking is available for free on the premises. 

By Train (International):

Buy a ticket to Schiedam Centrum railwaystation. Check out at the station. From there, continue by RET Metro line B direction Hoek van Holland. Check out at the next station, Schiedam Nieuwland. By Plane:

Schiphol Amsterdam is the main airport in the Netherlands. The best way to travel from Schiphol to Schiedam is by train. You will find the train to Schiedam Centrum underneath the airport central hall. 

The public transportation (train, metro-, tram- or buslines) in the Netherlands offers you the possibility to check in with  your debit- or credit-card (VISA or Mastercard). You have to check out if you change transportation medium. Only by train you will have to check out at the train station of your destination.

You can buy your trainticket at the yellow ticketmachines in the airport central hall or simply check in with your debit- or credit-card before entering the platform. Since Schiedam is close to Rotterdam, choose a train in that direction. Check out at Schiedam Centrum station, then continue and check in by RET Metro line B direction Hoek van Holland. Check out at the next metrostation, Schiedam Nieuwland. From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to the Van der Valk Hotel, Hargalaan 6, Schiedam. Click here for the walking route.

• Group travel discount:
  If you travel as a group, it is possible to get a groupdiscount for the train during off-peak hours (09:00 – 16:00 hr) for up to seven people.  You can get these discounttickets only online! For seven travelers, the discount is approximately €50. Notice: This ticket is only valid for the train!

Another option is to take the direct line from Schiphol to Rotterdam Centraal. From there take the train to Schiedam centrum, check out at Schiedam Centrum, then continue and check in by RET Metro line B direction Hoek van Holland. Check out at the next station, Schiedam Nieuwland. From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to the Van der Valk Hotel, Hargalaan 6, Schiedam. Click here for the walking route.

Other Airports:
From Rotterdam The Hague Airport the Van der Valk Hotel is easily accessible by public transportation. From the airport take busline 33 or 533 to RET Metrostation Meijersplein. Take metro line E direction Slinge to station Beurs. Change metro and continue by line B direction Hoek van Holland. Check out at station Schiedam Nieuwland. From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to the Van der Valk Hotel Schiedam, Hargalaan 6, Schiedam. Click here for the walking route.
